Cookies & local storage

The short version: this site sets no cookies at all. It keeps two small entries in your browser’s local storage — your display settings and your answer to the cookie question — and nothing else. Neither of those leaves your device. If you allowed statistics, an anonymous count of the page view is sent to Cloudflare, who serve this site; that too stores nothing on your device, and none of it identifies you.

Both are first-party: they live in your browser, are readable only by this site, and are never transmitted anywhere. There are no advertising, tracking, profiling or social-media cookies. The one third-party script this site loads — the visitor counter described below — sets nothing at all, which is why the table above has only two rows.
Why you are still asked
Settings you chose yourself are treated as necessary for the site you asked for, so European rules do not require your permission for them — only that you are told, which is what this page is for.
The question exists for one category: anonymous statistics. It used to be empty. Since 7 September 2026 it holds one thing — a visitor counter, described next — and it runs only for people who chose “Allow all”. If you chose “Only necessary”, it is never loaded.
The visitor counter
If you allowed statistics, this site loads Cloudflare Web Analytics — a script from Cloudflare, who already serve every page here. It records that a page was viewed, which page, roughly which country the request came from, which link or search sent you, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page rendered.
What it does not do is the part worth stating plainly: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser’s storage, gives you no identifier, and cannot follow you to any other website. It does not measure how long you stay. There is no profile of you anywhere, because there is nothing to attach one to.
Strictly, a counter that stores nothing on your device does not need your permission at all — the European rule is about storing and reading things there. It is behind the question anyway, because the loading screen told you statistics were optional and that ought to mean what it says.
Changing your mind
Open the menu, top right, and change the cookie setting. It takes effect immediately, and withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving — one click, in the same place.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, that is honoured as a refusal automatically, even if an earlier answer on this site said otherwise. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser settings, which resets everything above and you will be asked again.
Hosting and security records
The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) to deliver pages and to defend against abuse. Those are not cookies and are not used to track you between visits. They are covered in the privacy notice.
